Darryl A. Hill

Darryl A. Hill brings extensive experience in the areas of business development, finance and fundraising to his role as Managing Director at TW Capital Group.

Mr. Hill has long been a well-recognized face throughout the Washington, D.C. area. His time in the spotlight began as a college student at the University of Maryland where he became the first African-American to play football for the school. He later served as the Director of Business Development and Corporate Relations for the University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. In addition to raising millions in contributions for the school, Mr. Hill secured private sector financing to upgrade athletic facilities and helped facilitate one of the largest naming deals for a stadium in the history of collegiate sports. Today, his participation in athletics continues as the Chairman and CEO of Kids Play USA Foundation, which aims to remove the financial barriers to participation in organized sports for underserved children.

Mr. Hill has also made an impact in business arenas in both the U.S. and abroad. Stateside, he serves as Chairman of GreenHill Energy, LLC, an energy conservation company comprised of multiple energy management firms that offer clients innovative solutions to 21st century energy demands. He also founded Energy Systems Corporation, which operated several energy management and energy control system companies in California during the 1980s and 1990s.

His overseas record is just as impressive. He has organized, capitalized and operated numerous joint businesses in Russia, China, Brazil, New Zealand and Singapore. Most notably, he founded and operated NorthStar International Resources, Ltd in Russia, Sibercor in Buryatia and GlobalPac Incorporated in China. He has also been involved in the building of roads in Nigeria and the recovery of timber from the Amazon.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hill has lent his expertise to various business organizations and government departments focusing on minority and women-owned businesses. During his eight-year tenure as the Executive Director of the Greater Washington Business Center, the agency packaged over 3,000 privately financed and Small Business Administration loans and investments. President Nixon appointed him as the first Chairman of the National Minority Supplier Development Council. He also founded and capitalized the first publicly held Minority Enterprise Small Business Investment Company.

Mr. Hill has also spent countless hours in the classroom. He was an adjunct Professor of Business Administration at the University of the District of Columbia where he taught Entrepreneurship to fourth year business majors. He has also taught business management and finance at the graduate schools of Howard University and American University and often lectures on business finance techniques.

Mr. Hill is a graduate of Gonzaga College HS in Washington, DC and holds a BS in Economics from the University of Maryland. He has conducted graduate studies in business at several universities.
