Johnny Ip

Managing Director, TW Capital Group

Mr. Ip brings over 30 years of extensive commercial and international banking, cross-broader risk and project management, as well as global business consulting experience to his role as Managing Director at TW Capital Group. He also serves as President of the Hong Kong Association of Massachusetts, which is a member of Federation of Hong Kong Business Association Worldwide, a prominent business network with 11,000 members in 24 countries.

Before joining TW Capital, Mr. Ip was Senior Vice President and Director of New England Region of East West Bank.  He specialized in helping investors from Asia, in particular, China to launch their businesses in the United States through mergers and acquisitions, joint venture and investment immigration. Prior to the above assignment, he was Regional Senior Vice President and General Manager of New England Region of Cathay Bank, Vice President of International Banking Division of Citizens Bank, Vice President and National Sales Manager of Global Trade Banking Division of State Street Bank. During his tenure at these banks, Mr. Ip was instrumental in the designing and installing of special web-based global trade finance programs that enabled US companies to conduct cross border business online with Asian trading partners. Prior relocating to the United States in 1990, he also held executive positions with other major multinational banks in Hong Kong, including Norwest Bank and ABN-AMRO Bank.

Mr. Ip is very active in supporting and serving local communities. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Governors of Tufts Medical Center, a Special Advisor to the Joslin Diabetes Center, an Advisory Board member of Asian American Civic Association and Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center.

Mr. Ip earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Mary’s University, Nova Scotia, Canada.
